LVN AND BUSINESSES
Our school mentoring programmes rely on the generous support of our business partners who provide volunteers and/or funds.

Supported by people like you

We want young people to meet lots of volunteers, from a wide range of careers and industries. No matter where you are in your career journey, you have valuable insight to share with young people.
By showing an interest in the young people and their futures, volunteers help them learn about their strengths, increase their self-confidence, and demonstrate that people do want them to succeed in life.

“I’ve always wanted to support the young people in my local community but I didn’t know how. Local Village Network has provided me with the platform to do this.”

How you can help

Could your company/organisation provide a group of volunteers to support one or more 6-week Amplify Me mentoring programmes?
Student and mentor.
  • During weeks 1-5 of each programme, 3-4 volunteers attend classroom sessions that are facilitated by a member of the LVN team. These can be the same volunteers each week, building up a rapport with the students; or a variety of different volunteers.
  • In the 6th and final week of the programme, students will visit your offices to meet more volunteers and learn about a wider range of roles and routes into your company.
  • LVN provides full impact reports so you can track the difference you are making.
You can also support by providing funding, taking part in online one-2-one mentoring, or providing work experience.

By supporting, you...

  • Play an active role in addressing inequality of opportunity, discrimination and bias, under-employment, and workplace exclusion
  • Help to foster community cohesion
  • Integrate your business into the community
  • Increase brand visibility and showcase your company and industry to employees of the future
  • Give employees the opportunity to meet a group of young people and make a tangible difference
  • Help us to achieve our Theory of Change: for the young people to meet 10 volunteers during the programme.
