4-22 Foundation

What we do and our purpose
4-22 Foundation CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise that supports young people from the
ages of 4 to 22.

By offering safe and supportive opportunities, we give young people a place to raise and pursue
their aspirations.

We are passionate about our vision for supporting young people, positive that
our holistic, integrated, and long-term approach has the potential to transform young lives.

We believe that when inspired and motivated, young people are enabled to seek out and take
advantage of every positive opportunity and experience that comes their way.

Below are some of the opportunities that we currently offer:

Tuition School
We provide an education to children in our local community to help them achieve their full
potential. The school employs qualified tutors and graduate teaching assistants. The subjects
taught are Maths, English, and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. From as early as the
age of 4, we support children and young adults in gaining confidence in their studies to help
them achieve excellent GCSE and A-level results, enter great universities and finally seek
employment in their desired field.

Career Pathways projects-
a) Introduction to Stem
In this project, we introduce young people to careers in STEM such as coding, programming,
and gaming, whilst also teaching them the social, emotional, and communication skills needed
to succeed. While learning about STEM subjects, they will also be provided with a mentor who
will provide support, not only during the duration of the project, but for the long-term, and
thereby creating a positive learning experience that benefits young people.

b) Music Meets Arts
This project allows those aged 11 to 16 to foster their creativity in Arts and Music. We first start
by introducing activities such as yoga, different forms of poetry, storytelling, and writing. We
have the Creative Arts and Music section where Prints, Textiles, Design is introduced to one
group and the other group will learn how to create their own music and perform and record
this. While working on projects, students will also be able to socialize and create bonds with
others. Students will also have the opportunity to meet professionals in the fields of creative
arts, fashion, and music. They will get to learn about work opportunities, internships, and how
to achieve paid employment in these creative fields. We will provide advice on creating CVs and
Cover Letters, with emphasis on writing to creative companies. Students will also be able to go
on a trip. By the end of the programme, participants will showcase the art and music they’ve
created to family, friends, teachers, and creative professionals.

One-to-One Mentoring
Our mentoring is centred around providing pastoral care and support to young people aged 4
to 22. When starting the process, we work with young people, parents, families, and schools to
identify how each young person can be supported by their mentor. With the help of
specialist child development professionals, we provide mentoring support to children from the
ages of 4 to 7. We work with members of the local community and industry professionals to
mentor young people from the ages of 11 to 22. We also provide career-focused mentoring.
Our mentoring opportunities are offered across London, with a focus on the London Boroughs
of Haringey and Enfield.

Navigating Crisis- Employability, Mentoring & Counselling for 16-19 year-olds
This project consists of online support, comprising Employability Training, Mentoring, and
Counseling, for those who are residents within Tottenham and Enfield. Especially with the
Covid-19 outbreak, the rising rate of unemployment puts many at a disadvantage. Not only do
young adults experience the negative economic impact, but also the serious effect it has on
their mental health. We will help young people build their employability skills and develop the
job search training they need to find full-time work. Mentors will be there to provide support
and guidance with career development advice, internships, work placements, and shadowing
opportunities. We acknowledge the negative effects that have come from this pandemic and
will provide professional counseling to those who have experienced any trauma due to Covid-
19. Participants will learn employability skills, along with skills that improve their daily life.

Employability Training- Accountancy & Finance
This programme is offered to those aged 16 to 22. It specializes in finding trainees full-time
work within the fields of Finance and Accountancy. Our goal is to find trainees full-time work
within 3 months of starting the programme.

for each young person who is given a placement. We will create 400 Kickstart placements in

How to get involved
We welcome anyone who wants to make a difference in young people’s lives.

Volunteering is greatly appreciated as we seek people who share our same goal in supporting
young people to pursue their aspirations. From university students, fundraisers, office administrators, tutors, project leaders, and youth workers to those with no previous
volunteering experience- we can use skills and your drive to effect positive change.
We offer full training and support and offer a specific programme for those looking to gain
experience within their chosen field.
