Mind in Kingston

We are Mind in Kingston. We are here to ensure that everyone with a mental health issue in and around the borough of Kingston Upon Thames get support and respect.

We are an independent registered charity affiliated to National Mind and part of the Mind federated network. Operational since 1972, we provide a range of services to local people that experience mental health issues in and around the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.

Our Services

We provide a range of services designed to support people with mental health issues in our local community to maintain and improve their mental wellbeing, increase their self-esteem and self-confidence, make meaningfull connections with others  and be able to live independently in their local community.

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering roles are available including:

  • Allotment Lead Opportunities - Join our allotment team as Lead Volunteer and support people in our community to improve their mental wellbeing by growing food, maintaining our plot and learning about gardening.
  • Fundraising Volunteers - Do you have any experience of fundraising? Are you good at 'rallying the troops' and getting people on board? Are you good at organising events? Then this is the role for you! We are looking for people who can help us realise our fundraising strategy, help promote our charity to potential funders and support us with events. This is an unpaid volunteering role; reasonable expenses will be paid.
  • Trustee with Clinical Experience - The Board of Trustees currently has one vacancy for someone with clinical experience of mental health in social care or the NHS such as a mental health social worker or a psychiatrist.  Trustees have overall responsibility for the charity, its governance and the strategic direction of Mind in Kingston. While training and support will be provided, experience of management, finance, HR and working in a charity setting will be helpful. We are particularly interested in recruiting trustees with lived experience of mental health.
