Targeted Youth Support and Youth Offending Service, TYS/YOS

Targeted Youth Support, TYS: focuses on providing early help to young people aged 10 to 21 years old (12-21 for Youth Counselling), who require additional support to make informed choices and maintain positive pathways.

Youth Offending Service, YOS: works with 10-17 year olds who are at risk of offending or have offended.

When you are attending Islington Youth Offending service you will receive on-going support to make the most of your time with us.

We expect a commitment from you to attend appointments in support of accessing and maintaining education, employment and training.

There is an excellent offer of support from specialist services and this enables you to access the education and employment offer.

The Islington Education and Employment offer will provide you with the following:

  • One-to-one support to help you maintain and access education, traineeships, apprenticeships and employment
  • Careers Guidance and coaching with qualified advisers
  • Specific job coaching
  • CV and application form development
  • Mock interview
  • Support in accessing English and maths qualifications
  • Up to 100 hours of work experience/tasters or volunteering
  • Attendance at employment and college interviews
  • Excellent links to a wide range of employers
  • Information about opportunities tailored to you areas of interest
  • Appointments to access this service can be made with your case manager

You will be entitled to impartial, independent and non-judgemental advice and guidance on your options.
