Anxiety UK is a national registered charity for those affected by anxiety, stress and anxiety based depression - run by and for those with anxiety. We offer support, advice and information on all anxiety, stress and anxiety-based depression conditions.
Our helpline is open 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday (except bank holidays).
We provide a wide range of services to support those affected by these conditions; from those living with stress or mild anxiety, through to those with more severe, complex and longstanding issues. Our friendly volunteers can answer your questions and help find the right resources to manage anxiety.
All contacts received through the helpline services are answered by a trained volunteer and/or staff member. Volunteers use the pseudonym ‘Chris’ when speaking over the phone or responding to emails and texts.
---
You can also become a helpline volunteer. Working as an Helpline Volunteer at Anxiety UK is a rewarding and varied experience for anyone interested in working within the field of mental health and looking to learn skills in customer service and administration.
You will be the first point of call for callers taking the first step in seeking help for their anxiety. As a helpline volunteer, you will provide callers with support and information on getting help; conveying the message that anxiety is both manageable and treatable.
Please be aware this role is remote so you will be volunteering from your home. We have software that allows calls to come through to your computer plus an online system to respond to emails & texts.
