Dockland Settlements

The Dockland Settlements aims to provide support to local communities who live close to our centres.

Our focus is on working in Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets to provide sporting, social, recreational and educational activities. We provide low cost playcare to help parents go back to work or remain in work.

We have various volunteer positions including playworkers, fundraisers, cooks, and people to help run some of our groups including working with the elderly or disabled and trustee positions. With the expansion of our foodbank we are also in need of regular volunteers to help sort, pack and distribute food parcels.

Ways we help:

  • Food- and Clothes bank for the Homeless: a foodbank which provides food parcels for 65 low income families twice weekly as well as food and clothes for the homeless of the area.
  • ?Childcare:???We run two pre and after-school playcare centres, helping parents go back to (and remain) in work whilst encouraging their children to make new friends, learn and develop through play and fun activities.
  • ?Sport activities: Across all centres we host a variety of sporting activities. Each centre bosting with their unique features and catering to those living closest to the centre. Activities vary in price and with the help of funding and donations we also provide free sporting activities whenever possible as we know what an important role sports play in our lives, both mentally and physically.
  • Social Activities: We appreciate that it is in our nature to be sociable, thus we like to create opportunities for people to gather and have a good time. Some of our social activities go hand in hand with our sport activities.
