Rift SE - Haringey Jobcentre Referrals

For those who have a past or current conviction and are interested in becoming self-employed, Rift SE has been awarded funding to support ex-offenders looking to become self-employed. In addition many construction workers/contractors are hired on a self-employed basis, accordingly Rift are able to provide support to navigate through the implications of being a self-employed worker.

  The level of support will include:-

  • An initial consultation with a Business Start- Up Manager to provide advice, direction and practical support
  • A work book (accredited by the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE) to complete with content input by the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
  • Support with the establishment of the self-employment business with HMRC
  • Practical support throughout the first year of trading including:
  • Start-up loans and sources of funding
  • Marketing and branding
  • Business cards
  • Website development
  • Accounting and payroll services
  • Advertising
  • Completion of the first Self-Assessment tax return at the end of the first year of trading
