XLP - Working to Create Positive Futures for Young People

XPL aims to engage in long-term relationships that empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to complete their education, avoid anti-social behaviour and ultimately become independent and confident contributors within their communities.

To this end, XLP runs several programmes:

  • Communities: A set of community projects that are run directly on estates and in local communities: XL-Buses, XL-Sports, XL-Arts, and X-Mobile
  • Employability: This project aims to get young people aged 16 - 24 into education, training or employment, through: a 12-week course to tackles the barriers; structured sessions on CV writing and interview training; opportunities for experience.
  • Mentoring: Our nationally-recognised Mentoring project matches an at-risk young person with a trained mentor who encourages them to make positive choices.

If you'd like to play a part in empowering children and young people to build a better future for themselves and their communities, XLP can always use volunteers to help out.
