AKT: Youth Engagement Programme

LGBTQ+? Aged 16-25?

At akt we work with incredible young people like you everyday - and we want to make sure we have your input in everything we do!

We believe that your voices and opinions can strengthen and empower our LGBTQ+ community and can help akt address the issues and challenges you face as young LGBTQ+ people.

Key parts of our Youth Engagement Programme include:

  • Our national Youth Conference, bringing LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25 together from across the UK.
  • Collaborating with LGBTQ+ youth events and organisations to build on our amazing community and social connections.
  • Our Youth Strategy Day, where young people who have accessed our housing support services are invited to have their say on the future direction of akt.
  • Young Ambassadors, an incredible team of ex-service users who represent akt in public affairs, events and press.
  • Supporting young people with employment opportunities through both apprenticeships programmes and internships within akt.
  • Our Young Writers Group who are involved in creating content like blogs, podcasts and vlogs

Developing digital resources for young people across the UK, akt is always looking for people like you who want to help shape and deliver this work alongside akt.

This might involve: working with akt on resources (posters and leaflets, for example); having your work featured on our site; helping organise local and national youth events by and for the community; representing akt in your schools, communities and workplaces.
