Did you know that women make up around 50% of the workforce in the UK? However, in the tech industry, only 24% of roles are filled by women. This is why GT Scholars has launched a FREE summer coding programme for girls aged 12–16!
The GT Scholars #GirlMeetsCode programme is designed to introduce girls to the world of technology and coding. During the summer programme, girls will have the opportunity to:
(1) Connect with industry mentors and role models to learn about careers in coding and technology
(2) Solve everyday problems using technology and discover the fun in bringing ideas to life through coding
(3) Collaborate with peers to design a game or an app!
The best part? No coding experience is needed to join! The programme runs from Monday 19th August to Friday 23rd August, with all sessions held online. If you’re interested, be sure to submit your application by Monday 12th August.
