Merton Youth Parliament (MYP) MYP is a group made up of elected young people aged 11-19 (25 with special education needs or disabilities).
Young people on this group represent young people, who live, work, socialise and study in Merton to ensure their voice is heard in decisions that affect them.
The group work closely with senior decision makers to ensure young people are heard throughout any decisions that are taken.
They also work on their own campaigns that highlight the most important issues concerning young people.
Merton Youth Parliament also has a United Kingdom Youth Parliament place.
This role takes the voice of young people in Merton wider, and highlights it on a national platform.
You can be elected through your school, local area forum and some specialist groups for young people who are under represented.
Parliament meets every fortnight and also has some subgroups that focus on specific projects.
