Muslim Youth Helpline (MYH)

The Muslim Youth Helpline (MYH) is an award winning registered charity which provides pioneering faith and culturally sensitive services to Muslim youth in the UK.

This service is for vulnerable and distressed young Muslims with a wide-range of social issues - particularly those that are regarded as taboo within the community such as homosexuality and mental health problems and require culturally and faith-sensitive response and support.

The Muslim Youth Helpline aims to ensure that its service is easily accessible to all young people from the Muslim community.

Besides offering a free telephone service, many young people prefer to contact us by e-mail because of their fears in seeking support from within the Muslim community for the first time.

The work of the Muslim Youth Helpline focuses on three main areas:

1) The Helpline: Provide support at the point of crisis for those that need emotional support and signposting.

2) Training & Workshops: We deliver training to organisations to improve the lives of young Muslims.

As well as helping listening and counselling services become more appropriate for a young Muslim audience, we integrate skills into communities to help alleviate suffering before it occurs.

3) Research: Our research, and the dissemination of research, helps academically, usefully and effectively raise the issues Muslim youth are going through with the appropriate outlets in order to improve lives.
