Gloves Not Gunz is based in Croydon & South London.
We aim to prevent & divert young people from crime, antisocial behaviour, exclusion from education and ‘care’ through building positive relationships, education, diversion activities and community cohesion.
We specialise in using sport as a tool to engage and create change, we teach Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Yoga & Fitness.
Gloves Not Gunz offers a range of diverse programmes that aim to divert and prevent young people from engaging in crime, reduce school exclusions, prevent young people from going into care, build community cohesion and increase participation in sport & physical activity.

Our current programmes include the following:
1) School support & Workshops
We deliver workshops and our education curriculum’s in mainstream schools, alternative education provisions and other settings (youth offending, youth clubs etc).
These will include classroom work around:
specific topics such as:
The sessions usually include a physical activity like boxing, yoga or Jiu Jitsu to help improve engagement and support young peoples physical/mental health.
2) Mentoring
We provide 1:1 mentoring services to support young people.
These sessions usually take place within local communities or education settings.
Our workers provide a therapeutic type of mentoring that allows young people to explore emotions, barriers and work towards goals.
3) Community outreach
Gloves Not Gunz run weekly community sessions in identified hotspots for crime and poverty.
These sessions are open to all young people aged 8 - 19 and include sport plus education workshops.
We provide youth workers and sports coaches, equipment and safe environments for young people to aspire.
We currently have community sessions in Thornton Heath, Shrublands, New Addington and Fulham.
4) Inspirational talks & staff training
We have a wide range of speakers that have inspiring stories for young people, these talks are usually in relation to their own lived experiences of crime, care and education.
The speakers discuss the barriers and how to overcome these barriers.
We also provide staff training to professionals on county lines, exploitation and gangs.
