IN OUR HANDS TRAINING PROGRAMME

The IN OUR HANDS Training Programme supports young women in overcoming barriers to employment by both up-skilling them with a qualification in Nail Technology and by helping them to address other barriers to employment through a structured personal development programme.

DESIGN + MAKE

Delivered in partnership with London College of Fashion, Design+Make takes young people through a traditional leather making course, supported by a nine-month mentoring programme, access to work placements and the opportunity to apply for a bursary to continue their education at LCF.

ON TRACK

A 16 week music project bringing young people together as a collective to write, record and perform an album, pitch to professionals and host their own showcase event.

In the past collectives have gone onto perform at Lovebox Music Festival and for Universal Music.

ROLE MODELS

Role models have been a core part of our approach/work.

We define a role model as someone with lived experience of crime, abuse or disadvantage who has suffered their negative consequences and who strived for positive change and wants to support at-risk young people.

We have run support programmes for role models, trained them in youth work and creative skills on our projects, given them work experience and helped them gain employment.

DOLLIS VALLEY BALLERS

For the past 5 years we’ve hosted an annual basketball tournament on Dollis Valley Estate.

The one day community event has become a destination for young people at the end of the summer holidays and features live music, BBQ and a pop-up nail bar.

FOCUSED YOUNG INDIVIDUALS

A photography exhibition of young creatives, shot, produced and promoted by over 30 young people in collaboration with creative professionals and social enterprises.

The photos were installed across public locations in Hackney. Delivered with our long term collaborators, Mediorite.
