Become is the national charity for children in care and young care leavers.

We offer a range of opportunities to help support you.

  • having your say with decision makers
  • getting advice on your rights and entitlements
  • monthly drop ins to meet and socialise with other young people like you
  • our free Life Coaching Programme, focusing on personal development and supporting you to set effective goals, explore self-sabotaging behaviour and reach your full potential

Ask us for advice - it's free

Looking for help and advice? Talk to us in confidence – online or over the phone on our dedicated helpline for young people.

We really know our stuff about the care system and what everyone’s rights and entitlements are!

Call us on 0800 023 2033 between 10:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, or email us at advice@becomecharity.org.uk

Want to make a change in your life?

The starting point of coaching is that everyone has the potential within them to thrive.

Working with a coach is not the same as working with a counsellor, therapist or mentor.

Coaching gives you the power to unlock your own potential for positive change, by providing you with the tools to build resilience, improve wellbeing and understand yourself better. Coaching empowers you to think about and move forward positively in your life, by creating and working towards specific goals.

Our life coaching programme aims to achieve profound, positive and sustainable improvement in your wellbeing and give you the tools to shape your future with optimism and resilience.

If you are age 16-25 and interested please contact Tasha on 07393721212 or Natasha.beckford@becomechairty.org.uk.

Want a space to meet others like you, have fun and learn more about yourself?

We run Monthly drop ins at our hub in Angel Islington where you cane meet and socialise with other care experienced young people.

We play games, we eat food, we learn, we have debates and we ultimately have some fun! to keep up to date when our next session are, follow us on our social media platforms:

Want to make a difference in the care system and have your voice heard?

The advisory group at Become plays a vital role in our work and ensures we are listening to you at every opportunity.

It is made up of a membership of care-experienced young people aged 16-26 from across the country.

The group brings their valuable knowledge and expertise to support Become and other organisations.

As trusted advisors, the group contribute to our strategy, design and develop our services for young people, and work alongside our Board of Trustees to ensure we’re fulfilling our purpose.

Members also help to shape our policy and campaigning activity, offering their knowledge about the care system to influence decision makers, and support other organisations to consider the needs of children in care and care leavers.

If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!

Please get in touch with Sam at sam.turner@becomecharity.org.uk.
