Our Apprenticeships in the UK allow you to combine work and study with the opportunity to gain a formal qualification from Foundation level to degree level.

They provide you an alternative to A-level and university paths with a range of different learning methods such as workplace teaching, classroom-based learning, and online and self-study.

We offer two types of apprenticeships in the UK: Foundation Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships.

Foundation Apprenticeships

Our Foundation Apprenticeships are for entry-level permanent jobs at Level 3 and are equivalent to A-levels. You’ll receive a competitive salary and benefits, as well as support and encouragement to develop and progress your career within HSBC.

To be considered for a Foundation Apprenticeship, you will need to be:

• Reliable and committed
• Passionate and enthusiastic
• Have strong communication skills

For: School and college leavers of all ages

Duration: 18 months

Areas: Retail Banking and Wealth Management and Commercial Banking

Requirements: Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Mathematics and English above grade 4/C

Degree Apprenticeships

Our Degree Apprenticeships are new to HSBC and offer you an alternative to full-time study at university.

You’ll join a four-year structured programme which will provide you with customer-facing experience across four different functions in Commercial Banking and enable you to progress your career while working towards a professional qualification and a BSc from the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Throughout your Apprenticeship you’ll be matched with a dedicated mentor and receive ongoing learning and development opportunities via a mixture of one-to-one tuition in the workplace, in a classroom, online, a dedicated study day or self-study with possible residentials at universities.

You’ll receive a competitive salary and benefits and be supported in your final year to help you move into a permanent role at HSBC.
