If you need support with your mental health but don’t know where to turn, our Heads Together Charity Partners are there for you.

Whoever you are and whatever you’re going through, talking it through can help and it’s important you know you’re not alone. We all struggle with our mental health at times, and we all need support.

Many of our Heads Together partners, and many other organisations, run confidential helplines and online services staffed by volunteers who can relate to the difficult times you or someone you know may be going through.

  • Shout Crisis Textline: If you need immediate support, you can text SHOUT to 85258 and chat by text. The service is free on most networks and available 24/7, and trained volunteers will listen to you, and work with to help you take the next steps towards feeling better.
     
  • For anyone: Mind’s Infoline advisors provide information on a range of topics including; types of mental health problems, where to get help and support in your local area, medication and alternative treatments and advocacy. The Helpline is open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays).
     
  • For men: CALM offer accredited, confidential and free support to men anywhere in the UK through a helpline and a webchat service. They will talk through any issue with you and offer support, advice and signposting. Calls won’t show up on your phone bill and are free all phones.
     
  • For people under 25:The Mix is the here to take on the embarrassing problems, weird questions, and please-don’t-make-me-say-it-out-loud thoughts that we have. They offer a free & confidential helpline available 365 days a year via phone, email or webchat. They also have discussion boards and live chat.
     
  • For Parents: YoungMinds run a free, confidential parents helpline, which parents / carers can call if they are worried about how a child or young person is feeling or behaving. They also run a group called Parents Say, for parents whose children are accessing Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
     
  • For the military: Contact is a collaboration of mental health charities and organisations, convened by The Royal Foundation. Each organisation offers mental health support for veterans. A wide range of support is available through these organisations for servicemen and women and their families.
